Does it understand formulas?

It reads and writes them, not just values. That matters when you ask it to build something: “add a column that calculates margin” gives you a live formula rather than a frozen number someone has to redo next month.

Give it the spreadsheet’s link rather than its name. The connector deliberately does not ask for permission to search your Google Drive, so it can open any sheet you point it at but cannot go looking for “the Q3 budget”.
